Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban book cover

Happy Monday everybody, but not too happy or the Dementors will get you. Just kidding of course! Don’ know what a dementor is then you should read this book. Don’t know what Harry Potter is? What are you doing here then? Go on get the first and second book then come back. Bloody Muggles. in the Harry Potter franchise  Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K Rowling. I am about 150 pages in and it is still one of my favorite Harry Potter books. I find that this book is a good balance of light hearted story and dark toned conflict. Also one of my favorite Characters is introduced in this book. Sirius Black. In the entire series Sirius Black is one of my favorite characters. He is actually the reason I found myself wanting to read this book again.

On a recent trip to Universal Orlando I decided to buy one of their interactive wands that allow people to perform “magic” at certain spots in the park.Without really asking which wand belonged to which character I picked the one that I though looked the best and was the most comfortable to hold. The wand that I ended up picking was Sirius Black’s. After a day of playing wizard at the park I figured that I would re-read Harry’s first meeting with the “prisoner of Azkaban”. Also the copy of the book that I have  my mother actually won in a writing contest and she got one of the very first copies of the book before it was released in the U.S.

“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”

As always Dumbledore sure knows how to make an inspirational quote. It is our job to find the light in the dark. Life is what you make it. If you make it all doom and gloom that is what it will be, but if you decide that you rather see the light you will find it everywhere you look.

  1. I love going to Universal and playing with the wands. I have never bought one and did not know that you could perform “magic” across the park. next time I go I will try it out for sure!
